As everything in life, the strength and quality of foundations determine the future potential of growth. The foundation of a person’s life is set and completed during the first 4 years of his life.
The vitality of a nation is derived in large part from the productivity of well-trained people and the steady stream of scientific and technical innovations they produce.
The transition of ‘concept to concrete’ learning is lacking in many of the centres. There is little or no evidence of learning in the classrooms. Many of the work displayed in the centres were observed to be either templates for the children to colour in the lines or ‘cookie-cutter’ work that the teacher does for the children. The layout of the classrooms, the lack of learning corners or specific areas and the minimal cognitive materials does not facilitate the active learning of the children.
The teachers lacked the technical know-how of the curriculum or early childhood knowledge. Many found it hard to explain with clarity what the curriculum was about and how it could help the children in development. Only a handful of the teachers showed an understanding of teaching concepts and methodology of implementation. Children learn from their environment and through nurturing caregivers that surround them everyday, be it their parents or teachers.
At kids first we clearly understand what is required and our focus is only on early childhood via the development of ECEC ( early childhood education centres)

It would also be ideal if the centre was affiliated to primary schools so that parents do not have to worry about looking for primary schools when the time comes.
This full-service centre will also align the learning outcomes with the primary schools affiliated to for a smoother transition for the children.
This centre should also be inclusive. A Special Care Unit with trained therapists will nurture children with special rights

The infusion of innovation, information technology and technological advancement is also reflected in the extensive use of computers, scanners, digital cameras, video recorders, projectors, CCTV, light boxes, overhead projectors and innovative teaching practices in the classrooms to facilitate children’s learning. Children thus do not just learn from the teacher in the classroom, but from the environment as well.
Key Environmental Features at the Kids First ECEC campuses would include key environmental features:
The programmes are further enhanced by a rich outdoor environment that allows children to enrich their senses as they extend learning into the natural, real world outside with its abundance of materials and learning opportunities, so that learning is multi-sensorial, more meaningful, relevant and engaging.
The Kids First ECEC Programme, Philosophy and Goals are designed to promote and celebrate three stakeholders:
Help us make our kids capable to take on the challenges of tomorrow with a head start by making this happen today.
